Notice

Renewal notice 2007

Dear members,

We are delighted to inform you that Hong Kong Mensa is now offering Direct Debit (Auto pay) as an option to save you a lot of hassle each year. Using Direct Debit gives you peace of mind as it keeps your membership in good standing automatically. It also saves a lot of administrative cost, which is a crucial factor in running Hong Kong Mensa efficiently.

To reward members who choose the Direct Debit option to renew, we will offer a discount on the regular fee.  Member who pays by Direct Debit will be offered membership at a special rate of HKD180 for the year of 2007.

To apply for Direct Debit, here are the steps:

Either

1)      Print out and fill in the Direct Debit form (direct_debit_auth.pdf).

- Please be sure to fill in your HK Mensa membership number in the “debtor's reference” section. Otherwise we are unable to collate payments.

- To protect yourself, we suggest that you could set the "limit of each payment" at HKD250, which is the regular rate.

2)      Sign and return it to the Honorary Secretary by post or in person.

Or

1)      Place the Direct Debit instruction thru online banking.

2)      Send the confirmation notice to the Honorary Secretary for record.

You will only need to complete this procedure once (unless your banking details change).  For each new financial year in the future we shall simply send you a notification that the Direct Debit will be taking place shortly.

Alternatively you can still choose to pay by cheque or bank transfer, etc.  Member who pays by other means will be offered membership at the regular rate of HKD250 for the year of 2007.

For cheque payment please send us the cheque payable to "Hong Kong Mensa" by mail to:

HK Mensa, GPO Box 9858, General Post Office, Central, Hong Kong.

To avoid confusion and ensure fairness among members, the committee has resolved to adopt a new policy regarding renewal payments.  Therefore, please:

1. Pay on time - Any member who fails to make the full payment for the membership subscription by 28 February 2007, including paying according to a rate not applicable to his/her case (Early Birds, Direct Debit and/or under-21 rates), will not be regarded as a member in good-standing and will be denied of all services and rights (including email forwarding and voting rights) until he/she has made up for the correct amount in short.

2. Provide evidence of your payment - Claims of payment made without evidence support will not be processed under any circumstances.  The responsibility to provide evidence of any payment to Mensa lies solely on the member.  Keep the payment receipt until you receive a renewal confirmation from us.  Please DO NOT submit subscription fees in cash to any of the committee members, pay by phone banking/drop box or other means without receipt, since it is impossible for you to provide any evidence by doing so.
